Video Ads on Facebook and Instagram: The Recipe for a Creative That Sells

The first 3 seconds decide everything. The video structure that works for small businesses in Romania, filmed even with a phone.
The Creative is the New Targeting
The algorithm finds the audience itself. The difference between a profitable campaign and one that burns through the budget lies almost entirely in the creatives. The good news: you don't need expensive production.
The Structure That Works
- 0-3s — the hook. A concrete problem, not your logo. “Does your website not appear on Google when someone searches for your service in your city?"
- 3-10s — the context. Who you're addressing and why you're credible.
- 10-20s — the proof. Screenshot with results, a client speaking, a before/after.
- 20-25s — the call to action. A single action: “Request an estimate".
Technical Rules
- 9:16 vertical format for Reels and Stories, 1:1 for feed
- subtitles burnt into the video: most people watch without sound
- important text far from the cropping margins
- the first frame should be clear and bright, not dark
What We Most Often Film With Clients
- The owner explaining, directly to the camera, a common mistake in the field
- Product / service demonstration, filmed handheld
- Real client review, 20 seconds
- Before/after (old website vs. new website, renovated space, transformation)
Testing Without Losing Money
Launch 3-4 different creatives with a small budget to the same audience. After 3-5 days, stop what isn't performing and shift the budget to the winner. Only change the hook between variations to know what made the difference.
Signs of Creative Fatigue
Frequency increases, CTR decreases, cost per result goes up. When you see this, don't increase the budget — change the creative.
